DOES MY TRAILER NEED A YEARLY REGO CHECK?

Yes and No. If your trailer has a TARE weight under 250kg and does not have brakes then you do not need a yearly pink slip.

All vehicles with a TARE weight over 250kg or that have brakes need a yearly rego check.

Only caravans & camper trailers with model code CVT are like cars where there is no rego check for the first 5 years.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PINK SLIP (E-SAFETY), BLUE SLIP (E-AUVIS) AND A BROWN SLIP (E-HVAIS)?

Pink Slip – This is the yearly rego check for all vehicles with a TARE weight over 250kg or a vehicle that has brakes.

Blue Slip – This is the registration check for all unregistered vehicles and vehicle for its very first  registration in NSW up to 2000kg GVM

Brown Slip – This is the registration check for all unregistered vehicles and vehicles for its first registration in NSW over 2000kg GVM.

DO I NEED A WEIGHBRIDGE TICKET?

Weighbridge tickets are required for all vehicles, including trailers and caravans, on their very first registration in NSW. This is to confirm that the tare weight of the trailer/caravan matches the weight on the compliance plate.

WHERE CAN I GET A WEIGHBRIDGE TICKET FOR REGISTRATION?

Service NSW / Roads and Maritime require you to get a weighbridge ticket from either a public or a certified weighbridge. Bold Trailer And Caravan Repair Centre has a certified weighbridge at our workshop at 5 Captain Cook Drive Caringbah.

CAN YOU COME TO MY PLACE TO DO A REGO CHECK?

Unfortunately not. Under the law, all registration checks in NSW must be performed in a licensed mechanical workshop.
